Halaw

Halaw, 2017
National Commission on Culture & the Arts Gallery
Intramuros, Manila

Exhibited at the NCCA Gallery in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples month, Halaw (meaning ‘to adapt’ or ‘to glean’) is a participatory visual dialogue examining the Filipino oral tradition and cultural heritage. The work brings forth issues on national identity, heritage preservation and the role that the community plays in the crucial conversation about what it means to be Filipino citizen.
